first of all what is a purple shampoo? well it is exactly as it sounds! it is a shampoo that contains purple pigments which eliminates brassy tones out, leaving your hair feeling fresher and brighter whether you have your hair lightened in the salon, are a natural blonde or have natural grey hair, purple shampoo is the key to eliminating dull or yellow hair leaving you with a beautiful bright colour in-between services that you can achieve at home!

Step 1) rinse your hair, then shampoo your hair twice with your regular shampoo

Step 2) once your shampoo is rinsed apply your purple shampoo, you want to use a gererous amount and fully and evenly coat your hair

Step 3) leave it on for anywhere from 1-10 mins all dependant on your hair type, the condition and the desired end result, the longer its left on the more silver your hair will become, so if you are worried maybe just start on 2 or 3 mins and work your way up once you have figured out what works for your hair, bare in mind that different shampoo brands will be different strengths, so one maybe much stronger than another therefore when trying out new products you are best to start on a lower time and build on it.

Step 4) rinse the shampoo throughly and apply your conditioner, some people find that purple shampoos dry your hair out so you might be best to work your hair mask night into this routine.

disclaimer! if used too often, you will build up layers on your hair and it can actually have the reverse effect and make your hair appear dull, if you find this starts to happen just stop using it for a little while until it washes out, we usually recommend using the purple shampoo just once a week, sometimes every other week depending on the desired result for you!
