What is the best colour option for you?

With so much choice out there now it can be a little bit overwhelming to find the right colour for you, so let me break them down for you by giving you the pros and cons of each colour service and a little bit more information on what you should go for and why:

All over colour services

So when it comes to an all over colour you have a couple different options,

-permanent colour

-demi permanent gloss

Lets start with permanent colour first, this is recommended for people who have more than 50% grey hair, reason being is it is the only product that will completely cover up your grey permanently or till your roots grow back through (obviously), another benefit is that colour fade with permanent is very low, so your hair will remain richer for longer as long as your maintaining a healthy hair care routine at home along side this, you can also lighten your hair a couple of levels using permanent colour as long as it is applied to virgin hair which is a huge benefit because it means you can avoid bleaching; one of the cons of permanent colour is that when your roots do grow back through the line of regrowth will be quite harsh and solid so you may find that the maintenance is quite high

Demi permanent gloss's are perfect for a little bit of grey coverage (under 50%) or just if you fancy changing your colour, you can go darker or just change the tone with Demi colours, they fade off the hair beautifully meaning you can switch the tones around more frequently and its perfect if your just testing the waters with colouring your hair, the regrowth with these colours are much softer than permanent meaning you can go longer in-between appointments, Demi's give the hair a beautiful shine and are not damaging at all so if you are someone that like to colour your hair a lot you can with these, the only con with this colour house is that you cannot go lighter with them!

Highlights

So, highlights are great for lightening and brightening the hair whether you have a few just scattered through or a full head packed in, this will give you optimum brightness, there's many different techniques when it comes to highlighting to give you different desired effects, you can have multiple different colours when highlighting to give a multi-tonal effect or just stick with bleach to give you super bright blondes, highlights are super versatile, the downside it that the regrowth can be pretty harsh depending on the colours you have chose, for example if you like to be super bright and your natural colour is dark, the line on regrowth will be pretty solid and contrasting, however loved by so many I can't see highlights going anywhere for a long time and they look so beautiful when freshly done!

Balayage

A fairly new and hugely popular technique that has changed the hair game, balayage is a super low maintenance way to spice up your hair by adding lighter pieces throughout the ends blending into your natural or colour darker root, you can have as much or as little light peices put through and start up as high up or low down as you desire, there is also a huge range of colours you can choose from, it doesn't have to just be blondes, if you are naturally very dark you could just add some lighter brown piece's through, or red tones, this is why i love balayage so much, the best part is its super low maintenance so you will only need it refreshing every 3-12 months depending on how fast your hair grows out and how you like your hair to look, its also a much healthier way adding lightness to the hair as the risk of over-lapping is very low and you are not getting it done as often as you would highlights leaving more time for the hair to repair itself in-between services, one of the cons of balayage is that I would not recommend it on heavily or short - layered haircuts as it can look patchy and you will not get that seamless beautiful blend, you also can not have this on super short hair, overall an amazing technique that is so versatile and can be adjusted to meet anyones

needs

- This is more of a darker toned balayage for brunette ladies wanting to add bit of low maintenance lightness to their hair

- This style of balayage is for a more low maintenance blonde for the girlies who are tired of that harsh regrowth that highlights give you, but still being able to remain a nice bright beautiful blonde but just with more softness at the root

Creative colour

Creative colour is for people who just want something a little bit more out there and different there is so many different placements you can choose from, to add pops of colour here and there without it being just your standard highlights or balayage, here are a couple of examples:
